ATLN is creating and curating resources that various stakeholder groups can use to launch and sustain initiatives and to develop strategies and tools focused on serving the middle class.

The resources below are intended for ATLN members and other like-minded legal professionals advancing ATLN’s mission. They are not intended for members of the public.

Justice Technology Association

The Justice Technology Association (JTA) is the first and only organization bringing together like-minded tech entrepreneurs in pursuit of access to justice. The website includes a member directory, resources, and more info about the JTA. The organization was formed in 2022.

How to Start a Nonprofit Law Firm

The Chicago Bar Foundation & A Different Practice
This resource is designed to help practitioners transition from pricing legal services based on the value provided to the client, instead of time. It helps practitioners align their own incentives with those of their clients, while providing practical tools to help practitioners get started. (2021, updates currently in progress)

Limited Scope Representation Toolkit

The Chicago Bar Foundation
This resource is designed to assist practitioners who are licensed in Illinois and seeking to offer limited scope representation as one of their service offerings to potential clients who have civil matters in Illinois trial court. It also provides practical guidance for those across jurisdictions to think through the appropriate use of unbundled services. (Last updated 2023; updates currently in progress)

Unbundled Legal Services Resource Center

IAALS
The collaboration of stakeholders and thoughtful strategic planning is vital to increasing the use of unbundled legal services to respond to the needs of the growing numbers of people without lawyers. For unbundled legal services to be effective, many stakeholders need to be part of the equation. Courts and rulemakers need to support it, lawyers need to offer it, and consumers need to know the options available to them. The resources on this page are tailored to the groups who need information about unbundled legal services and how to implement them, offer them, or seek them out. (2021)
